Entry from: Arbaqu, Iran Entry Title: “Arbaqu and Caravanserai Zein-o-din” Entry: “We said our goodbyes to our new friends in the early morning of the 13th which you may not know is my birthday and set off on our way to Arbaqu. My tour mates and leader, Reza, made this day very special for me. I was sad being away from friends and family but the thoughtfulness of my tour mates and leader and the nomads helped quite a bit. They sang happy birthday to me while we were sitting with the nomads for breakfast. Meg gave me a posey that she made down at the river earlier in the morning and the nomads gave me a bag of dried yogurt to take with me. The taste was interesting but it was the thought that counts, right!? We headed out to Arbaqu to a hotel that was a bit out of town in the desert. We visited the Tomb of Cyrus in Pasagardae on the way, basically a large rock tomb in the middle of nowhere with scaffolding all over it for restoration, I assume? In the past, the grounds were lovely gardens etc but now only sand and desert remained. When we got into town, we saw a huge ice house where the used to store ice, a 4500 year old cypress tree and the 11th century Gonbad Ali Dome where we had chai and watched a beautiful sunset fill the sky. That evening, we had a nice dinner at the hotel and my birthday …

cheers for this… being sponsored by MAC to paint at a huge music festival using their products and think I’m being given these.
Yes WAY too small a container for working bodypainters!
And as usual way too pricey…
Still can’t believe they thought calling it ‘acrylic’ was a good idea – we spend half of our time trying to educate people that normal acrylics are NOT GOOD on skin. This isn’t going to help:(
Do these paints get all stiff on the skin after they dry? i am really liking these products:)
@gloomilyeuphoric didnt mean to type airbrushing these are not for that they are paints hehehe. i meant u would need more of this particular product like if you were doing full body painting in which case you’d prob want to go with those products you mentioned like ben nye i believe some of their amounts are larger. buuut. if you were to compare mac against a Multitude of others out theri you’d find the price is really median. for example MUFE concealer will run you 30 studiofix is 16.50
@gloomilyeuphoric Well I think it’s more for theatrical/stage makeup which is why it’s in the Pro product line; Somewhat like Ben Nye or Kryolan.
@hhsswimmer21 Mac has great products I’m sure, but they’re ridiculously overpriced. As someone who isn’t working in the field, but buying makeup for my own personal use it seems pointless to pay through the nose for just the name. Even if I were working as a makeup artist, this product would be a waste (in my opinion) for the reasons I mentioned.
Unless it’s labeled as airbrush makeup, I’d NEVER put a product through a machine. Sounds like a good way to ruin an Airbrush…
@gloomilyeuphoric holy crap doll what must you think of their other non pro products . you will pay almost 20 dollars for about the same size pigment container. pay less and most MOST Of the time get less. IM sure if this a pro using it they get a discount and dont pay the full 20 price. a little goes a long way and obviously you are using more airbrushing when you are doing full body painting. idk its my opinion..
you like oily in this
@sandy10115 these AREN’T acrylics. try using a real acrylic paint on your skin! acrylics dry down stiff and flaky on the skin, these are formulated to be like a layer of “second skin.” not all, but most acrylic paints are toxic. why mac named these acrylic paints is beyond me because acrylics are known to be bad for the skin and include plastic material. so why you would come in these comments and “call out” someone when you know absolutely nothing on the topic is very ignorant and rude.
@ItsRipley ok then what are they smart ass
@samjones0528 this is not toxic. intended for use on the skin.
@Ronnibee all of the except the green, blue, purple ones.. but they’ll dry out your lips fast.. and you’d have to apply chapstick/nivia kiss of moisture or another oil based moisturizer (since their aren’t any water based ones lol) and thus, you’d loosen it up.. so moisturize them before hand overnight.. it shouldnt turn out bad, but DEFINITELY line the outside of your lips with vaseline so that the color doesn’t bleed. if it does it won’t come off with ease.
@lovnsmiley yup. waterproof.. you need oil to loosen them/take them off (its oil based)
are these good for an eyeshadow base?
CAN YOU PLEASE PLEASE DO A REVIEW IN USING THE BLACK ACRYLIC AS EYELINER?
Hey Koren! Thanks for the review..however..I wonder if you’ve ever tried mac chromacakes?? I’ve always wanted to try them out as I think they are more practical for body painting….I tried searching videos in YT about them however I didn’t see one that thoroughly talked about them..what do you think about chromacakes.? I hope you can do an overview about them if you have/tried them… Thanks!
your rude!!! if you dont like to hear him dont watch it!
your rude!!! if you dont like to hear him dont watch it!
ur voice is so annoying!
@gloomilyeuphoric The only thing these are good for is body painters, or theater. Thats it. Its not practical for everyday use.
I was curious about this product. Thank you so much for the demonstration. Very helpful.
@WasteofGlitter ITA with you. PEOPLE: “Non-toxic” just means that it won’t hurt you if you INGEST IT. Its meant as a precaution for children who might use it (like say an art class) and get some on their hands/put their fingers in their mouth (you know how kids want to eat everything). Art paints are not tested for use on skin so “non-toxic” doesn’t mean you won’t get a rash or severe case of dermatitis if you slather it on your face. I swear, I can’t believe people are so completely dense….
@letybid sorry I’m not Koren, but I’ll answer and hope that suffices. No, you can’t put them through an airbrush. Its not intended to be used with an airbrush, which uses either alcohol based makeup (for body paint) or silicone based (for beauty/face makeup). Yes, there is a white (he didn’t get it). Its a polymer base, which is what tubing mascaras are and some liquid liners currently on the market.
I am going to be definately buying the black (best hygenic way to do black liquid liner) but I’m now contemplating getting all the colors. I do a lot of events/location shoots so keeping things small for my kit is essential. I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t decant these into smaller containers, like the Yaby tubes. Have you tried that? Transporting 12 Yaby tubes around in my kit is much better than 12 wide mouth acrylic jars! Less potential for mess too! Just squeeze out what you need!
@jessybangle001 the types of dyes used to make certain colors are not eye or lip safe, because your eyes and lips are mucous membranes which need to be treated carefully with dyes/colorants. So if the manufacturer says its NOT eye/lip safe, don’t use it there! you could get a severe reaction.
@TracyChristian The black one will be the best black liquid liner you will ever use in your life. And it will probably last you for YEARS.
